Job Description

Test and coordinate business enhancements for quality control:

  • Ensure quality of product -- the primary function of this position is to provide both quality control techniques and quality assurance practices to help ensure the continued high level of quality in our business systems
  • Perform testing in development and production environments to ensure the delivery of high quality end results
  • Integrate test specifications into design specifications
  • Test applications for reliability, consistency, and ease of use
  • Test business enhancements for quality control, by understanding business needs and requirements and testing to guarantee that enhancements are functioning as intended
  • Test Planning consists of the following tasks:
  • Test Cases ΓÇô Identify and document the scenarios/requirements for testing
  • Test Conditions ΓÇô Identify and document the conditions to be tested and expected results
  • Test Set Up ΓÇô Identify and document the data set up requirements for each scenario
  • Develop, coordinate and present test results to the Business Analyst, System Analyst, and Developer
  • Document and prioritize test conditions and test scenarios
  • Identify, log, and track defects discovered during testing
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
  • Provide reporting on defect tracking and escalate technical issues as needed
  • As required, help develop system user manuals (online and print) and training documents

Assist Business Analysts:

  • Research and resolve break/fix production issues and reproduce production issues in lower level environments as necessary
  • Participate in business requirements meetings to gather and record specification information
  • Help define functional requirements needed for internally-developed applications
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with BA/development teams to ensure appropriate identification and handling of defects and their timely resolution

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS / MIS or equivalent experience in related roles

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience in software quality assurance and testing, developing test plans, scripts, cases, and supporting data, and testing business applications

Work Related Experience:

  • Expertise performing Smoke, Integration, System, Regression, Performance, Compatibility, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Functional testing
  • Demonstrated experience with SDLC, Waterfall, and/or Agile methodologies
  • Experience creating test strategies and metrics and managing change through change access controls
  • Proficiency creating test scripts, test plans, and tracked defects and testing completion reporting either manually or through the use of automated test tools (e.g. Mercury); automation tool scripting and implementation a plus
  • Expertise testing various Client/Server, vendor supported, and Web-based applications both manually and using testing tools like QTP and Quality Center
  • Previous application development experience a plus
  • Previous application production support, code debugging, and/or related troubleshooting experience a plus

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of web applications, web browsers, and security protocols (TLS, SSL)
  • Knowledge of SharePoint (design and testing skills a plus)
  • Knowledge of claims adjudication systems preferred (MedMC; QNXT)
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, HIPAA guidelines and regulations preferred
  • A strong commitment to improving product quality and a resourceful testing mentality
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong process orientation; attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, Microsoft development tools, and Microsoft Office tools
