Position Purpose: The Senior Analyst, Business Development and Market Intelligence serves as the key analytical resource to support Steward Health Care Network’s provider growth strategy in each of Steward’s markets. The Senior Analyst will leverage available market intelligence tools – including, but not limited to, Stratasan, Array, Intellimed – to develop key provider target lists.

  • Is the Master System User (i.e., gain a full understanding of the use, data sources, and output needs) for the Stratasan market research tool
  • Creates primary care provider target lists in each of Steward’s markets using the market intelligence tools. Identifies and categorizes PCPs who are loyal, who have significant panels and/or who are not aligned to Steward assets. Coordinates with local operations from the three Business Units (Network, Medical Group and Hospital) to prioritize the PCPs on the target list
  • Researches each market to understand the key primary care players, accountable care organizations, hospital/health systems and other competitive forces. Researches and understands the value-based care activity (both internally in Steward and competitively) for Medicare Advantage, Medicare and commercial lines of business
  • Develops and maintains market share analyses for executive leadership to use for service line strategic planning. Identifies in-migration, out-migration and other patterns to explore opportunities for service line growth, new service line development and improved care coordination
  • Coordinates with the Senior Analyst of Business Development to maintain an updated and accurate market intelligence database which has information on all competitors in each of our markets
  • Delivers accurate and on-time deliverables, including reports, cost estimates, models and ad-hoc analyses
  • Supports ad hoc analytic requests, providing accurate and timely data, analysis and insightful interpretations
  • Conducts sophisticated business analyses to support Network Development growth and ongoing operations, grounded in deep expertise and functionality with both internal and publicly available data sources
  • Performs other duties as requested

Education / Experience / Other Requirements


  • BA/BS required; Master's degree preferred

Years of Experience:

  • At least three years in a healthcare strategy or business development role

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Analytic and technical skills coupled with the ability to translate complicated data into useable information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with a wide range of constituents.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment and a multi-dimensional environment. Creative, flexible, self-motivated, professional must possess sound judgment consistent with achieving service excellence.
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present information to small and, at times, large audiences.
  • Ability to function effectively within an ever-changing environment and to meet deadlines and reprioritize as necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and has a working understanding of Salesforce
